The history of the Milford Marina dates back over 150 years to when scows first made there way up Wairau Creek to carry stone from the quarry situated under what is now the Milford Mall.
In the 1920s when development of Castor Bay was underway and a bridge was built across Milford Creek it had to be raised above mast height to accommodate vessels moored in the creek.
It wasn't until the 1960s that the marina began to take shape in the form we know today, initially under the guidance of Takapuna Borough Council and later the North Shore City Council.
Milford Mariners Incorporated is an Incorporated Society formed on 10th May 1991 to manage the Milford Marina facility after patient negotiations with the North Shore City Council to transfer stewardship.
